A "Ten!"
Today was just too good not to share. John, aka Leatherneck, joined me today on the nicest day I have ever fished Tillamook Bay, ever. There was not a lick of wind, I didn't have any seaweed, other boaters were very courteous, oh and the fishing was fantastic!
It started off great with my friend Brian handing me 2 dozen of his "Secret Herring". The Herring were brined to perfection and it was soon proven as John's rod tuck a buck in his hands in the Ghost hole just minutes into the day. John waited and waited till the fish buried the rod in his hands and the first fish of the day was brought to net.
I didn't have to wait too long and I had a fish in the box on The Flats'. On my next pass, I filled my limit at Low Slack.
Now with only one rod in the water I went from Fisherman to Chaffer, not a bad gig on such a beautiful day!
John didn't keep me waiting long and our boat limit was filled.
Before heading to the dock I see that my good friend Pat Abel was making his clients happy.
It was truly a treat to fish with such a high caliber angler as John. Thanks John!

Re: A "Ten!"
This was one of those days where someone says , " you should have been here yesterday ." But we were there to experience those " you should have been here yesterday day , " bites! The weather was perfect, not a lick of wind. This was my first time fishing in Andy Cohos new sled and what a treat it was. This trip made my whole fall, the only thing that could make it complete is if I could harvest a big coast range bull in a few weeks. I have fished T-Bay a number of years and this AM bite was one of the better I have been involved with. Lot's of fished hooked and lots of fished landed. It was also a real treat to fish in someone else's boat, not having to worry about navigating and everything else that goes with running a boat in T-Bay. We will take my sled on the next trip Andy. Remember- inject those herring with sardine oil!

Re: A "Ten!"
With beauties like that, what makes you want to drive up the gorge and fish for old coho and upriver-not-so-brights?
Nice job!!
