Oprah
Yep ! I like Oprah
Did anyone see her yesterdays show. It was awesome.
They did a CT Scan of her heart. They have the means to scan your heart and see it as if it were out of your body and on a table. They can see what condition it is in. They explained alot of things about heart disease that I didn't know. I wish I had a video tape of it.
Of course her heart was in excellent shape but they showed scans of bad hearts also and what caused them to be that way.
Then they had several real hearts on a table to show.
The condition of the heart is a pretty good indicator of the rest of you Organs. If your heart is clogged up then so is the rest of you.. Better do some excercise and stay off he junk food.

Re: Oprah
Yeah
I was impressed my dad just had open heart last week and that would have been nice for diaognotics.

Trust me your dad had all the diagnostics he needed. I don't want to burst anyone's bubble but the CT scan is a nice tool but has yet to be adopted as a "standard" in imaging coronary arteries. Sometimes television can give people a somewhat inaccurate view of things. The news channels are notorious for doing this. I'm not trying to say that the cardiac CT scan doesn't have some place in cardiac imaging but you have to understand that there are already some pretty fasinating imaging modalities that are used on the heart. Did they mention cardiac MRI, echocardiogrphy, angiography, nuclear medicine, no. I kind of got the feeling that the chicago physicians had a vested interest in pushing the CT scans. Anyway just thought I'd chime in and try and balance out the sales job those Doc's were doing.

Re: Oprah
That's right Flapbreaker.......
Oprah is the Queen of the infomercial...if you think that she produces the worlds most popular afternoon "Talk Show" ya better take a closer look...start asking questions about what you are seeing. After you point out the fact that she will mention at least 1/2 a dozen different products per episode, you'll realize you just watched a 1 hr advertisement....intermittantly broken up by actual commercial advertisements! She isnt the only one guilty of this of course.....

Re: Oprah
Yes, fascinating,
Oprah is a big time Anti Gun proponent.
She does have some interesting topics of discussion, but i have heard that she has donated many many dollars to groups that aim to outlaw guns, not just here, but internationally.

Re: Oprah
I have a CT scan every three months and man oh man does it fill you with radiation!
Pretty cool what it can show, though.

Re: Oprah
I just happened to see that show too, after having a heart attack on 10/2 @ age of 43 I seem to be noticing all kinds of heart shows and info. It was very good show, but prior to my heart attack I never even gave it a thought that I had an issue with my heart.
