Default Where to fish Nov. 15-18th timeframe?

I have some buddies coming up for work 11/15-18. They want me to take them fishing (with pretty high expectations for good action). I live in Hood River and have a boat. Heading to Tillamook probably too far, but fishing the Columbia, Drano, Klick, Hood, Deschutes, other(?) are all possible.

I'd like to stay within about 1 hour of Hood River area, if possible. What do you think my best options will be for that time of the year?

Thanks, CLS/Dale. Are you talking about from CR, out in front of the mouth of the Klick, or somewhere up into the river?

We usually drag plugs outside the mouth of the Klick by the green 55 marker. Trolling up inside the mouth can be productive too. Between the green 55 marker and the bridge at the mouth it is shallow so you don't want to try trolling there. Once you're inside the mouth and under the bridge you can put your plugs in and start trolling.

We launch at Mayer park and run down/across.

Red with black herring bone and green fire tigers seem to work pretty good.

Oh geez...wasn't paying attention to your time frame.

I've still caught Coho at the Klick that late but another place you might want to try, and look or ask for reports first, would be steelhead on the John Day.

I agree with Dale. Wear your warmies, and fish the JD, either up in the river, or if the wind isn't blowin' (yeah, right!) you can try the Oregon side between the dam and the mouth... MagWarts, Fatfish, kfish, New Flatfish, etc...
