Default "Benchleg" Deer Question

I am curious if anyone has heard the term, "Benchleg Deer". I harvested a very large 5 X 4 yesterday in Central Oregon which had a rack very typical of a blacktail deer and the body of a mule deer. (Hanging weight, carcass only was 154 lbs!!) I believe this may be a cross between a blacktail and mule deer(??)

Any info on this would be appreciated.

Benchleg bucks are from the Cascades where muleys and blacktail deer mingle and breed together. B & C will not recognize a blacktail killed in the Cascades but the Oregon book has a category for Cascade bucks. Post a picture so we can admire your buck.

Yes- for instance in the Klickitat GMUs in Washington all blacktails are scored as Mules also. Funny though, the couple blacktails that we've shot there would score out as some pretty small mulies.
