Thanks to everyone for their ideas. I'd forgotten just how hard it is to name a dog. We got him Saturday, and I've spent countless hours with him. We've run so many names around that we were getting sick of it. Then, out of the blue, it just stuck....Meet our latest up and coming Salty Pup....Riley!

The only time he isn't getting into some kind of trouble.

He's adjusting very well to his new surroundings. He just turned 6 weeks this past weekend. He got his puppy shots today, and came in at a whopping 11.5 lbs.

Thanks everyone. It's amazing how much you forget over time. Like how many times a day a puppy poops and pees, and how unselective they are in where they do it. :shocked:

He's actually progressed remarkably in the past several days. He already seems to understand "NO", though he doesn't always agree with it.

Through sheer diligence I've already got him where he'll pee almost on contact with grass. His first attempt at fetching was 100% successful, and most attempts since have been successful, though he tends to like to shake the bajeezers out of his toy prior to bringing it to me.

He loves his kennel when he's tired, and virtually always enters it on his own to sleep (when he isn't napping on my lap). He gets very mad if I close the door though. We're working on that...baby steps.

If he continues progressing at the present rate, he'll know his ABCs and some basic math within a year.
