I fished the creek this week and went 3 for 5 in about an hour in the one oclock area. First fish 10 to 12 pd hen lost at the bank little dark, second 5 6 pd dark buck released, third chrome bright hen about 7 8 pds kept, fourth fish fairly dark buck 7 8 pds released, fifth fish 8 10 pd buck chromer lost halfway through fight water was perfect for me all fish caught in the same hole. Talked to two other guys that were on one oclock rock said they had both hooked fish but lost them all seemed like novices but they were still getting action. Went back on Wed for a little bit and only turned one fish, water was very cold. I could see fish holding above the deadline in a spot they always do probobly 5 to 8 holding in the same spot. Talked to a guy fishing on one oclock rock and said he helped a guy land a native and he could see three or so fish holding in the flat water across from him but coulnt get them to bite. On two seperate occassions recently I saw lots of fish cresting the first falls and I have personally done very well in the upper canyon this year. Dont say I never gave a report.

U-G-L-Y.

It tripled in size and flow from yesterday at about 2pm to 7am this morning. Total blow-out

Good news is it stopped raining around here a few hours ago, and the creek should begin dropping soon(cross your fingers).

My guess is that it may fish as early as tomorrow afternoon, but Monday is much more likely, depending on how much more rain we get.

The Clack doesn't look too pretty either. That may take until the middle of the weeek to settle down.

Chris

I took a drive up to the hatchery yesterday. The creek was so blown out it was just a nice drive . A worker told me they had 255 fish so far and had completed their first harvest. That explains all the dark fish I've seen in the creek. The trap had some big pigs in it! at least 12-15 pound range. I thought I'd try below Faraday on the Clack - blown.. then went to McKiver to fish the hole below dog creek. Clack was wasted... tried bobber and jig for an hour with 5 others who just couldn't not fish. No action and one fish rolled. I changed rods and plunked a blob of eggs and hooked up and landed a Summer hen. The hole is a real mess with all the Winter ice damage and trees laying in the river. Does anyone know if it is ok to take a chain saw down and cut that stuff out of the hole?

FF1- It is fishing, a little high but its dropping. I fished for about an hour this morning and it was really ripping. Went back this afternoon and hooked 1 but lost it on some rocks. I saw a couple other fish hooked.

West Linn Wader,

Go towards Eagle fern park. Look for all the cars parked along the right hand side around the yellow gate. Your there! Its the deadline below the 1st fish ladder over the falls.

Good fishing from there on down. By the way it's called one oclock rock because that's what time you need to show up in the morning to get a spot so it's no secret.

Good luck

Bob
