Default Tillamook Bay Report with action

Red sky at night, saliors delight,
Red sky at morning, sailor take warning,

Boy did it blow today. We threw a few crab pots in and made it to the jaws. The tide was ripping in, 10 oz couldn't hold it down. We stuck to our guns and stucks out two hours of misery.
Flew up to the Ghost Hole and saw three on as we nestled in. We had to wait, but by 10:30 my friend Larry had a 28# buck in the boat.

A half hour later I nabbed one and bonked it a few times to settle it down. 28# hen loaded with #1 grade eggs

A hour after that Larry got #2 in the boat. 21# hen

We got off the bay by 2pm, cleaned everything up and headed home.

What a great day with my best bud and my dad.

Awesome job!!

White Water Fisher,
Very nice fish! care to divulge what you fooled them with?

I was also curious if they had that strange white pearl onion looking growths in the meat like many fishermen have been reporting on the north coast…

Thanks,
Steve AKA: Happy Gillsmore

Happy G were were using black label herring, cut plug, on the bottom. It seemed that the bite was along the Ghost Hole outhouse and toward Garabaldi in 18-19 feet of water. We saw probably five fish caught in the area. The last two hours of incoming was the best time. The wind was blowing so hard we could only troll with the wind.

I was there and I think we landed the first fish.
We took home three fish for four people.
Had two get off.
Then the wind kicked up. Wphhhhhhhew. What a blast.
The first fish. My cousin dropped his line a Salmon was on before the lead hit the bottom and it was still very dark out. We had two fish by 7:30 am.

We were using Purple Cut plug herring that was in the Freezer for three years.

But don't tell anybody.
