Ifish Trophy picture page
I thought it would be nice if I made a trophy picture page for you guys for your elk, deer, or brace of mallards, etc.
Would you like that? I could link it every year off of the top of the page, here.
Let me know if you'd like that, and then I could simply put them on one page... small thumbnails leading to bigger pictures.
Maybe I could even get someone to give a prize to the most impressive pic?
Jen

Re: Ifish Trophy picture page
OK. I don't watch this page all that much, so Rauly, can you notify me when someone posts a picture, or can you guys just send me a copy when the big event occurs?
I think it would be awesome to have pics of big elk and deer on one page at ifish. An annual thing!
With fish, we catch so many, but with deer and elk, it's more of an event!

If that link were a hungry cougar in the woods, I'd be dead. I can't believe I looked right past it for two minutes.
Sorry. If you haven't found it ...
Look for the GIANT "IFISH TROPHY PAGE" link right in the top middle of the page.

Re: Ifish Trophy picture page
I think the idea is that they need to be ifishers in order to get their picture on here.
If he is an ifisher, great! And yes, we need his story!
If he's not, get him on here already!
Great pics!

Re: Ifish Trophy picture page
Crayfin, these are for this year's catch. Are these all this year? If not, which one?
One pic per member... I just can't do a whole bunch and keep up with everything else. I'm sorry!

Re: Ifish Trophy picture page
Let’s see, I’ll start with my bull because I got him first:
My buddy runs a big ranch out of John Day and invited me over for a little hunting during the 2nd week of archery season so I said “sure, I’m there”! Well we get everything situated and it’s decided that I will go out hunting with his son Cody. Cody had been hearing a few bulls over in the public ground that borders his ranch (the feed was better over there) so we decided that that was where we were going to try first off.
The first morning we’re up bright and early and headed off to the “spot”, after throwing a few bugles in to a couple of areas we make it to this steep and deep looking canyon and fire off a bugle---whammo, we get an answer that actually sounds pretty close (for once).
Off we go into this chasm. After going about ½ mile we decide that the bull has a couple of cows because he is moving off and going over this little ridge. We proceed after him knowing that as hot as it has been that likely they will not stay on top and will be looking for the cooler temps on the north side of the ridge. I forget my range finder on a stump up the hill about 100 yards and tell Cody to wait while I run up there. As I am coming back to him he sounds of a bugle and all I hear is CRACK--THUMP--THUMP—THUMP. Well I dive for the ground as this nice 5x6 comes screaming around the corner looking for what’s been making all the fuss. The bull comes into our right about 40 yards and stops in the creek bed, I tell Cody take him because it’s on his side…….long story short-he gets in too close, gets our wind and blows out. BUMMER
Around the hill we go to cut off the main bunch. We now here 2 bulls bugling, one in the middle of the ridge and one on the opposite end. After calling for about 15 minutes we decide that neither one is coming in and that I should sneak up there and see what I can do. I decide that the one in the middle is bigger and go after him, on my way up there the one on the end bugles again I and I decide that since I have to get up on top I might as well see what he looks like and take the long way around. We’ve all been there……nice trees for cover and then an open area to cross as your getting close, hmm……….I’m going for it! About ½ way across I see some white “things” moving around in the mahoganies “What is that?--------my pea brain thinks---Oh %$#, it’s the top of his horns”! So here I am out in the wide open watching this bull feed through the trees, taking his own sweet time I might add, looking around, getting a bite or two to eat, pretty much enjoying his morning. With nowhere to go and nothing to do I decide to just sit there and see what happens, after about 15 minutes of looking at him from 100-50 yards, I am starting to get cramps from sitting on my feet (very steep hill), my neck hurts and I really want to MOVE!!!
Cody has been able to see me (he’s behind me about 125 yards) and senses that I am “locked on” to something that he can’t see. He decides to get up and move to my left which would bring the bull down the hill and into my waiting arms J Everything works as planned—he walks behind my “get to that tree and your toast” tree and a good arrow and short recovery leads me to my bull!
Stay tuned for more action soon!!

Re: Ifish Trophy picture page
I'll get to it! I'm fumbling with too much to do right now.
I'll catch up, I promise, and those are beautiful animals!
Hey, would you make it easy for me, and copy all urls to put on the trophy page, and put it here?
Someone?
I need pictures, or their url, the name of the member, and the url of their post.
Pretty please?
That way I'll just have to resize them, put them up, and be caught upish!
Jen
