Anyone Else Excited About The Duck Opener?
Because I sure am. We've got this awsome drift planned that has produced tons of ducks on many different trips. Should be fun! So who else is just totally pumped for saturday?

Re: Anyone Else Excited About The Duck Opener?
Naw, who cares about a few greenheads anyway. (wink, wink)
The blind is on the boat, hitched and ready to go...
But I don't think the deer will find it quite as amusing.
(still chasing blacktail :depressed: )
But I think I'm going to catch the bird flu next week.
Can you say "Avery Flu"?...or is the Averian Flu?
LOL to ya'll,

Re: Anyone Else Excited About The Duck Opener?
I'm stoked!
I'm busting out of here tomorrow morning to do some pre-hunt scout work and gear shake out. Planning on hitting the lower Columbia. Let's see...shoot time is 7:03, check. Low tide is at 7:20, check. Tide will be -0.3... uh... <gulp>. Oh well, here goes sumfin!

Been dreading the day all year! You don't know what it is like to have two labs that expect you to hit everything! The pressure is too much I just can't take it! Perhaps I will take up knitting!

Re: Anyone Else Excited About The Duck Opener?
Terrible, terrible day. Why does it have to coincide with the opener of cascade elk?!?!
Tragic when you have too many options.

Re: Anyone Else Excited About The Duck Opener?
Oct 15...I will be hunting deer!
Way better than ducks, I have 107 days for that, so a week is nothing to miss.
the opener is always a zoo of people trying to shoot 3 hooded mergansers!! no thanks, I will wait for the green to show up around halloween, then its on...

Re: Anyone Else Excited About The Duck Opener?
I guess I am a bit excited..
The GF came home and I was in the garage sitting in my Kayak making some last min adjustments on the gunracks.
Sled is in the water ready to roll..
I think I have a sickness where the only cure is to sleep in the boat!
Take em'

I think you would be suprised how many birds are already down here. They are arriving a lot earlier this year than last. I do see where you are coming from though. Long season, deer is only once a year. Good luck!

Re: Anyone Else Excited About The Duck Opener?
A couple days ago I was driving home from shopping when out of the corner of my eye I saw movement in the sky. It wasn't one, not two, not ten, not twenty but, a cloud of ducks piling into this honey hole. Well, I got my hunt lined up for tomorrow. Good luck, guys.
