I am headed out tomorrow taking some boys crabbing and was wondering if I should try trolling with a spinner for awhile as well -- or would it be a waste of time?

Never a waste of time. I dont think its been lights out but I have heard of a few being caught here and there.

It's been spotty but you may get into a run of fish.
Early this week was slow, the end of last week was ok. We have caught our few fish during the tide change.

Talked to one guy that was fishing the jaws with herring yesterday and they got 3 nice chinooks. We tried the river between pulls and never touched anything.

I'm heading over to Nehalem today as well for some camping and crabbing in the morning. I've got my rods ready to go. Ya just never know.

I'll be in one of the rented boats from Wheeler Marina. Staying in the State Park.
