Trying the John Day Canyon from Clarno Bridge to Cottonwood bridge. Should be interesting. Quail too. Smallmouth while I'm at it.

Hatch seemed to be great down in SE Oregon. Many birds in Steens, Trout Creek's, and Pueblo's.
It's a long drive, but I sure love that country. Guess I'll have to take my lab and start chasin' Chukars!!

Hunted Saturday east of Wasco. The farmer that lets us hunt his land says he has never seen so many chukar and quail and huns (oh my). He was right. Jumped coveys of each, along w/ a few rooster pheasant, but only managed a few quail. One covey of Huns launched while I was getting the water bottle out for the dog. Ya would think they knew. Going back this wkend w/ a buddy to see if we can't knock down those roosters.
