Wish the rain would've got here a few days earlier, but better late than never.

Anyone else feel like its Christmas Eve? How am I supposed to sleep during the 3 hours between when I will likely get to bed and when the sweet sound of the alarm clock tickles my ears...?

My rig is already loaded and its 412pm. Think I am excited?  Only 10 hours and 48 minutes until time to leave.

Guys im hurting. I got some really bad news last week. My geology class is taking a required field trip to Crater Lake, and out of all the days to go its this saturday. This will be the first time I have ever missed opening day. You dont think they will mind if I bring my gun along and hunt while there....will they? Whack some ducks for me guys.

Don't feel too bad drake. Our pond is still dry. Wont pump it for at least a couple more weeks.

The opener can be good for a couple hours. Then play at Summer lake( you really think 7 hours to the blind is excessive?). Then wait for the first ugly weather in November.

By the sounds of the weather reports, the lower Columbia should be murder central tomorrow. After that, chase salmon until it gets good.

By Thanksgiving, the dog wil start getting wiggly.

By the end of December, Mrs. Flatfish has the priorities speach with me. My eyes will glaze over in the middle of the speech, as I daydream of widgeon bombing the dekes on a cold windy day. I can see the bead cover the bird..the bird is totally covered by the barrel.. the gun booms as I loose everything in recoil...My eyes search the dark sky for a second bird as the stinging rain hits my exposed cheek..The dog leans towards the corpse floating amongst the decoys one webbed foot still paddles in the air.. Jake is whining to be sent out.

In mid january, the dog goes back to sleep for another 9 months.

Do not fret.....the best killin' is yet to come!

Mark and the max dram equiv dog.
