If they have had rain over there they will be mid slope to higher slope. With an occassional covey near the main river. If no rain they will definetly be in draws with moisture and near main river. You pick the hill to climb, no particular spot.

Go about 10 miles down river on the access road to Girt Canyon. Used to hunt there all the time. Good luck.

slamminkokes,
I'm doing the cast-n-blast too this weekend, but on another river. Good luck to you, I hope I get into birds too.

GBS, good luck to you. I cant wait to see my dog look over her shoulder at me everytime i miss one of those chukars, and give me THAT look! Hopefully a few birds and a fish or 2 will make it worthwhile, though i guess anytime youre hunting with your dog and fishing is worthwhile! Good luck!

FWIW, On my many float trips down from Macks' I've been seeing a ton of birds on the East bank between Dike and the actual "Macks' Canyon" itself.
Steep stuff, I stick to grouse these days!!!
