Re: Norski's Buck (PICS)
Like my Bro:: Forest Gump said, he smelled like gun power,
I couldn't pass it up, my wife made me do it.
With the hat, Redneck-Deer.
And the end, to the freezer.
It all started on the 30th, worked my back side off at work, I wanted to take the day off, but work is work, so after I finished my day, got home and pack all that I thought I needed, left Bend some where around 4:00, and off to Prineville, stooped and picked up what ever I forgot, and headed east, along with 1000 others, when I got to camp all but 2 were not there, "Party" NOT, it was misting, I got thing ready for the opener, and crawled into my sleeping bag, and at 2:AM it started to pore down rain, sleet, and snow, I didn't get any sleep, at 3:00am got up and made coffee, and just waited for the rest to get up, around 5:00am ever one had coffee, and loaded up the 1949 Jeep, with out a top, and off out into Gods country, in the rain, I had my rain gear, as I left it in the truck from the last fishing trip, we went into the woods about 8 miles, and Jessie said hay look at them doe's, I watched them as they went over the butte, I said hay I am wet, cold, and I am going to follow them, they said you well never see them again, I climbed up this mole hill, slid down in the mud, I had it in my face, hands, and if my wife saw the mud on my 300 wsm, she would flip, but with the hart pumping, and a sweeting, made it to almost the top, I went around the left side, nothing down the first draw, went another 25 yards, and all I could here were the trump of feet, getting closer, and about 25 to 50 yards in front of me came I don't know how many but they stooped looked at me, and exploded, but the Buck just stood there, with half of his body behind a tree, I took the safety off, raised my rifle, looked through the scope, and it was fogged up, and dripping rain drops, I didn't have time to wipe it off, so again I looked through it and saw the out line of this deer, and next I here is crack, as I pulled the trigger, the buck ran right in front of me Haugen the ground, he went about 25 yards, and lay ed down, I walked up to his tracks, and his left leg was drag gen, and I thought I missed him, but than I see one spot of blood, and followed his tracks, more blood, and than a puddle of blood, and just a head of me there he was just kicking for the last time, I yelled out YES,YES,& YES.
I heard the brush off to my left and the hairs stood up on the back of my neck, cougar, I turned around to my left and was ready to blast it, it was Mr. Moron, and you have read about him, I was dripping wet, a steady stream off my hat, and with all the B/S going on I just reached down and started to drag him to the muddy road, as I almost get there here comes the jeep, and Jessie & Jason drug it the rest of the way.
On Sunday, the OSP was checking the camps, and the officer said that this is the biggest he has seen so far, I went back out, with out my rifle, but with my pistol, as the cougar's are thick out where we hunt.
To make this longer check out Opening Weekend.
Thanks Joker for posting the pictures.
Norski.
