Default black bears santiam unit

was wondering what would be a good way to get these blackies spot and stock or predator call

Had been spotting them pretty regularly in that unit in the berry patches earlier in sept, but the berries are gone and rifles blasting now, so I haven't tried since then. Last trip, the week before rifle opened, the berries were mostly gone. I figue I'll just have to be lucky and spot one on the move while deer hunting from here on out.

Wait for the first snows around the beg of Nov, and cut tracks. I could have nailed 3 bears last year during late season archery deer season.

Haven't had any even stop for a predator call so far. Keep glassing the clearcuts...

awesome thanks guys i missed one with my rifle over on the other side of the mountains and one came in on me when i was cow calling it was about 10 yards from me and 5 from my dad. so close i could see his beady little eyes and all so cool. brush was in the way of a vitals shot with my bow so i let him go.
