Default Got CAT ?

Thought I would update you boat-crazies on the CAT search...

a refresh on requirements: 25-30, O/B power, under 10K # on trailer, killer ride, about 10' house w alaska bulkhead, quality builder.

Kevlacat: Nice talk w factory guys, promise of Lit, quote, video, etc..One month later - ZIP no word. threads on hulltruth MAY be true....

Glacier Bay: lurker ifish guy who sells them (in OR) says new 29' model on way, he PM's me - I PM back w significant interest - then ZIP.. I send factory an e-mail via "contact-us" on their homepage - ZIP..wonder what customer service will be like? I called the local (WA) dealer, who was very engaged on phone - said he would send me info and even take me to lunch w Larry Graf who owns/runs GB. I just want a brochure - skip lunch..so far ZIP on GB

C-Dory Tomcat 25' - toured factory about 6 miles from home. I posted here w comments and thoughts - A class boat, too small for my needs.

Maxweld: I sent them a very detailed e-mail w requirements and questions. I got back a detailed quote for a 90% solution w a promise to work w me. They (Andy) have been stellar - after 5 e-mails and a long conversation we are close. So far it's 28' L x 10'6" B, 31' LOA. waiting for drawings, test-ride in something close (Size and power) and hope to move to build slot by boat show season. Mav has been of big help w PM's and offers to ride w and talk w him. I think I would just buy his IF I could tow it - dually will not fit in my garage...(((

More as film develops....

TomicTime,
Looks like you are super sizing the boat! Got the 10' itch I see! Do you plan to run off shore to WCVI or trailer over by ferry??

4'-6' is still better than 9-5!!
If it doesn't have a bill...it's just bait!!

Hi Outerlimts....well kinda...my LOA right now is 26.5 going to 31...but the running surface is not quite the same leap...The $$$$ goes up by a ton..guess that's what you get replacing a ten year old boat..

Planning to do both re running. Thinking of running to neah for Hali, leaving it here 2 weeks, then up to Tofino for a month, then further North. Drag trailer above Nootka when the show is over...It's a plan anyway...

Hmmmmm, sounds like your traveling in the wrong direction. Think I hear Baja calling out for that new boat to travel south and experience some of that warm weather fishing!!

Yea, I am about 1-2 years out in replacing my 10 year boat as well. Dreaming of the new boat already!!
