Default Deer Season.....getting all pumped up!

Deer season is just a few days away for us Washington hunters. October 11th is the big day! I can't wait. Be hunting Eastern Washington for big ol Mulies with my T/C Contender 35 rem pistol! (will have a rifle with me too) I'm starting to lose sleep over it already! I'll be leaving the 9th and who knows when I'll come back

So where is everyone gonna be hunting this year?

I can't wait either. I'm leaving the 8th and we (10 of us) are going to be going to E. Wa. for the entire season. We'll come back for 2 days and head back over for the elk season. I drew a cow tag so I'm really pumped for elk season. I'm lucky though. I have a friend that got his deer with his bow,so I've been eating venison for a couple weeks.

I'm getting geared up for tomorrow's opener....Rem 870 w/rifled slug barrel, 1 0z. slugs. Plan to be in a spot to watch the trail that goes past this elderberry that has been recently scraped/thrashed by a buck.

Aww come on GSA you are just showing us the nice stick you peeled to make a walking stick. Might be a likely spot though.

KF85...Did you notice the new boundaries on the Battle Ground Unit? They changed big time down here around Camas and Washougal. Did they change it up in your corner? Down here the moved the line right up against the houses and took Jones Creek and the rest of the timber below Larch Mtn and moved it into the Washougal Unit. :depressed: Kind of a bummer. It really makes the late season tough to find a spot that is even a little way's back from the houses.

Yea they messed it all up by my place. Kinda funny, have 3 units pretty much in my back yard. Yale, Battle Ground and the Washougal Unit.
Well, I'm supposed to get a big ol buck anyways in E. Washington so I'm not to worried about hunting the back yard this year. If something does happen there has been 3 real nice size bucks running around.
I'm still getting the Winchester 1300 with the rifled barrel all sighted in. Got 60 dollars worth of Sabots coming. 325 gr sabot slugs. Have another 40 dollars worth of 308 loads and about the same worth of 35 rem for the pistol on its way too.
Is it just me or does hunting season get kinda $$$

I'm pumped too!! I'll be on the mountain watching the sun rise in north central WA, not 20 miles from the Canadian border, right in the middle of my old stomping grounds. A weekend on 500 acres of private unhunted land with special access for me and my son. Ain't it great to have family!! Whitetail and mulies both in this area, and a big cinnamon bear has been seen.......did I die and go to heaven? Good luck and safe hunting to all!

Elk hunting starts tomorrow for me. Fellow smoke pole hunters will find me in the Ryderwood unit with about 500 of my hunting buddies. And deer starts the day after muzzle loading ends. Wow have a week to hunt.
Oh the reason that they changed the Washougal/battleground boundaries was because during the long season that you get in battle ground all of the deer were dropping down from silverstar and the back side of the washougal unit to the valley and getting shot. They moved the boundary to the stree up from my house. Thank god i still live in the battleground unit.
