Nice to see another 280 fan. I have taken a lot of animals with mine including the bull I shot last year at 365 yards. I'll keep my eye open for one.

Isn't the Classic a new caliber every year? Are you just filling out a Classic collection?

My 25 is the Classic model and thought once or twice about filling out a collection of them; 7 in total I think.

My bad, I guess they didn't repeat the calibers. I saw on their website all of the classics going back to the 70s.

firedog,

I checked Auction Arms, Gun Broker and Guns America. Didn't find any. Do you know what year they made them?

Keta,

The 7mm express is a real dog next to my .284-06 semi improved( bumped the shoulder froward to increase powder capacity. And it will not chamber in a .270. ).

Dorky gun humor is the best kind.

If you find a .250 savage in your search, email me.

I go to work for a day and everyone responds

Gus, I am looking for a Classic in .280 for a couple reasons, I love the line of these guns. I also have a .300 WBY in the classic and it is a great gun. I have a .280 in the Mtn. Rifle and it is also a pretty good gun, I have carried this gubn for 15 years now and killed many deer with it but I want something that has a longer barrel and like I said I really like the looks of the Classics. Remington isn't making anything this year in .280 except the Mtn. Rifle so Options are limited. I have looked in to a Stainless/Synthetic in .280 but will have to find a dealer with one from last year still.

Not that I need anohter gun but you can't have to many right. Have tossed around the idea of a 25/06 and a few of the other calibers in that range.

Here is the list of calibers that have been available, there are a few I would like to have.
Remington Classic

1978-1985 Various
22-250 Remington
243 Win.
6mm Remington
7mm Remington Mag.
270 Win.
30-06 Springfield

1981 7x57mm Mauser
1982 257 Roberts (24" barrel)
1983 300 H&H
1984 250 Savage
1985 350 Remington Mag.
1986 264 Win. Mag.
1987 338 Win. Mag.
1988 35 Whelen
1989 300 Wby. Mag.
1990 25-06 Remington
1991 7mm Weatherby
1992 220 Swift
1993 222 Remington
1994 6.5x55mm Swedish
1995 300 Win. Mag.
1996 375 H&H Mag.
1997 280 Remington
1998 8mm Remington Mag. (with sights)
1999 17 Remington
2000 223 Remington
2001 7mm-08 Remington
2002 221 Remington Fireball
