I've had success using a strong solvent and oil dry (kitty litter)
Pour the solvent on the stain and then pour the oil dry on top working it in with a broom.

I got tired of trying to remove the stains and just used that quickcrete resurfacer. So far, so good. Easy to do and looks brand new.

There is an iFisherman on here named Josh who works for Fettig Construction. I had them do my new driveway.
They probably have some good ideas.
Only problem is I don't know his alias.

Read somethin' about Phosforic (sp) Acid..available at Home Depot or Lowe's...if that won't work there's that muriatic acid (Is that right?) but you really have to be careful with that stuff.

Re: Best removal of oil stains on concrete driveway??
Fresh oil? Kitty litter. Grind it in with your foot, sweep it up.
If it's old, try using laundry detergent - the dry powder kind. Do the same as with kitty litter. Grind it in, let it sit and then wash it down.
My daddy used to make me use something called "energine" to clean up oilspots. Honestly I have no idea what this stuff was. Some kind of solvent. I'm not sure it's even marketed anymore. That was 25 years ago or so.
If it's a constant problem, put a drip pan under the car thats dripping so you don't have to clean up after it.
Even a piece of cardboard will help.
Good luck

Try "OilEater" available at costco. Comes in a 1&1/2 gal. It cleans everything from car parts to laundry.

Re: Best removal of oil stains on concrete drivew
that OilEater stuff is simply amazing. I use it on my truck tires. I made the mistake of putting the white side out on my tires..that stuff cleans it right up!
..tired it on the boat floor too..looks like new!
the driveway?? I think i'll try that tomorrow

Re: Best removal of oil stains on concrete drivew
OB has the right Idea. I know this site bashed them for a while recently but Amway now quixtar has a product called Bioquest. it is a biodegradeable laundry detergent. get the powder for I thinks its called bioquest SA-8 sprinkle it on and scrub it off with a stiff brush...or if you want to go totally organic they have LOC (liquid organic cleanser) that is made from all organic ingredients...dont use the acids previously refered to if you value your salmon fishing...the runoff from your driveway goes somewhere down stream.
