Default To Brine Or Not To Brine

I did a search on brine and found some posts on it but found it still up in the air. So I thought I would post it and get some input. Plan on going to Nehalem bay this weekend. I never have fished with plug cut befor and not sure wether to brine or not. If so what cure would be better. I know that there are some home brews out there but I work 10 to 12 hours a day and don't have time for that. Thanks in advance for any info.

Andy.

Brine will firm the flesh and this allows your plug-cuts to last longer w/o getting mushy. Its important when there is heavy current.

If you are slow-trolling w/ little current, then I'd say brine may not be necessary...

No matter how many hours per day you work, putting them on rock salt takes five minutes and helps firm them up.

Atleast put them in a heavy heavy rocksalt/water solution.

Its hard to catch fish on bare hooks and if your trolling soft bait you'll also find yourself pulling bare hooks alot of the time.
