I thought maybe you were talking about the pair that tried to bust out of the Mult Co jail and foiled (reported in the Oregonian this morning). These were a couple of real Darwin Award candidates as they didn't realize that they would not have been able to break the window, and, their home made rope, fasioned from pieces of shredded bed sheets, wasn't long enough to reach the ground from their floor!!

It's good entertainment. It seems to make correctional officers look like a bunch of thugs and morons, which bugs me a bit, but you have to realize its just TV. The last episode (with the riot and the C/O taken hostage) really bothered my wife so we may not be watching anymore.

Might have been true in Mark Twain's day or even to a lesser extent today in some other states, but here in Oregon, I can tell you first hand that the men and women who work in our prisons are some of the finest, most upstanding people you'll ever meet.

with all due respect bigfish the prison system in this country is full of corruption, with everything from drug smuggling (especially tobacco in oregon) to assaults by correctional officcers (typically on restrained inmates). granted oregon department of corrections has cleaned up it's act some seeings how it was'nt all that long ago that oregon was right up there with the worst for corruption amongst it's security staff. just in the last few years you've had oregon c.o's arrested and imprisoned for supplying contraband, child pornography and child molestation to just to name a few and you don't have to take my word for it just do a little research on former prison guards who have been and are currently incarcerated. I know there not all bad, but come on, when all you need is a G.E.D and a desire to spend a lot time behind razor wire what kind of people will you typically attract?

I'm thinking since this thread is about a TV show, I'll skip the discussion about correctional officers. It's counterproductive. Sorry for my part of the hijack. The show is good, I enjoy watching it and I'm glad the staff I work with aren't like those portrayed on the show. We'll leave it at that.

TIVOOOOO! YEAH BABY!

It's on during MNF, so I am always tovo'ing it. It's a show that would be very tough to jump into...4 episodes in. I would recommend renting it when it goes to dvd.
