Default Lincoln City This Weekend??

Heading over to lincoln city this weekend to try to do a little fishing. I know we are a bit early but had the opportunity to try it so thought we should. I have never been to the oregon coast fishing before and am looking forward to it. My question is where do I have the best chance of catching a salmon (silver/king) at? Don't know the area very well, but I am pretty good on the sticks in my Hyde drift boat with about a 50 lbs thrust electric motor. I know that there have been a bunch of posts kinda like this and I have been watching but I am having trouble deciphering them. We will be there for Saturday and Sunday and are just looking for a little info.  We will have an open seat too both days if someone wants to trade a seat for some info. Any help is much appreciated and PM's are certainly welcome. Thanks Jason

I don't know the area to well but I was there last weekend for a wedding and had a chance for some fishing. I headed up the salmon river where all the car were parked off the side of the HWY back to PDX, Its basically about 2 miles up river from the mouth, you can't miss it with all the cars, its also below the hatchery. I saw one nice big chinook on the bank, but I really didn't think the ratio was that great with the # of fisherman and I didn't see any hookup action when I was there. Ofcourse this was about 2pm, so I can't tell you what the morning was like. Its slow moving tide water, lots of tree branchs and debri to get hung up on. If you want to fish it, take a bobber and set it up with eggs or sand shrimp.

If you have a drift boat, you might want to tote around in the mouth of the siletz over by Moes seafood, its just south of the other river. You might find that more enjoyable and a better more relaxing seen. The crabbing also look to be very good there.

Thanks guys for the input. Any other opinions. Is it safe to fish the nestucca down there out of a driftboat? Don't know much about it but I won't be getting myself in trouble will I?

Fished the Siletz Sunday, was about the slowest I have seen. When I took out the folks at the ramp had only 4 fish on the board for the day.
It was another one of those "you should have been here yesterday". I'am so sick of that line. Slow fishing wont keep me from fishing this weekend. Fish on.

Lorch,
Ditto, just got off the water from the Siletz. Worst day I have ever seen.

I'd go fish for surf perch before I did that again anytime soon.

I don't know anything about the nestucca, but I would definately try something other than Siletz.

I did catch a crab  I guess my bait was set too low
