Default question for the archers

I'm going to be rifle hunting deer and elk in the saddle mtn. and wilson units. I haven't really heard anybody talk about either yet. I was wondering if there is anybody out there who has any reports. I know last year it was bone dry all over, has this rain helped anything? Or do we still need more. Are you seeing any bucks in the saddle mtn, cuz last year i saw plenty of does but only one buck. Thanks for any info.

The rain has helped quite a bit. I've only seen does, and called in a bull, but I now think that where I was hunting is closed.

I hunt the South side of Saddle Mtn. Good numbers of Elk, the deer population seems down over the last few years. We used to see 4 or 5 deer every day three or four years ago, now it's a rare event to see one. The Area between HWY 53 and 101 is a good bet for deer. Scout some of the older over-grown clearcuts near streams.
