Default second season scouting help?

Hey all trying to get the wife into something this year. looking for some help/info for second season archery. Not asking for honey holes just a little guidance. We live in Bend and I have 4 days off at a time so I will do the scouting, rattling and calling just never on "that" side of the mountains. Thanks in advance for your time in this matter..

Hope for a lot of snow, then hunt the edges of the wilderness areas. The elk that come out of there are usually pretty easy to kill. The narrower the drainage the quicker they will come down.
