Default Depoe Bay boat launch....

Anyone know if it is open to the public? Price to launch? Also, is it safe to take my 16' Fish-Rite out the hole in to the open ocean on a calm day for some crabbing (when the season is open of course)?

Probably never will do it, but thought I would ask anyways.

Thanks,

INSAYN™

its a couple dollars, maybe 5. If its a calm day, I don't see why you couldn't go out, as long as your properly equipped, extremely safe and don't exceed the capabilities of yourself and your boat. I've seen smaller boats out there........

I guess another question would be, is crabbing any good around there?

You may want to ask over on The Salty Dogs forum .

I'm sure if you introduce yourself (and share a story), someone will give you a current report.

Depoe Bay has no or very little crab in the bay, since there is no food for them. Ocean Crabbing is closed now.

I have seen smaller boats going in and out of Depoe, you just need to find the perfect day. Make sure you have all the required safety equipment and some extra since you are in a smaller boat.

Depoe has honor box for a $2 launch fee.
