Yep! We can't wait either. I just hope that they stay close to the books.

I gave the book to my little nephew a few years ago for Christmas. It was the first "real" book he read. My sister (his mom) had insisted that he was too small for real books - we sure surprised her!

My son received the full "Chronicles of Narnia" book for Christmas last year. I was in his room the other day and saw it sitting on a shelf. I picked it up, wiped the dust of it and started reading it. 800 pages and it is great, brought back lots of memories.

I saw the adverts for the movie and it looks good BUT it doesnt look big budget to me. I hope I am wrong because I am looking forward to seeing it.

I am afraid to watch the movie...I just dont know how it could live up to the books.

but...if it is as good as I hope it's going to be....wow, that will be sweet.

Yep, really looking forward to it. I wouldn’t expect any movie to go into the detail a novel can in two hours. I hope Disney holds to the original Christian theme which C.S. Lewis wrote. The lion is the Christ figure in the original novel, not that it’s a surprise to anyone who has read the books.

I'm looking forward to seeing it after viewing the trailer. One thing I noticed was that in a locked room there was a door that led into the other world as opposed to the book which had a closet that slowly went from mothball sented clothes to a treed wilderness.

Then again, its been a bazillion years since I read the books.

I watched the trailer too...although somehow I saw something you didnt. The trailer shows a little girl "Lucy" walking into a large room with absolutely no furniture in it EXCEPT for a very large and ornate wood wardrobe against the far wall. She is searching for a place to hide during a hide and seek game and she opens the wardrobe and is dazzeld by a bright silvery light. The trailer doesnt really show what is in the wardrobe. I didnt see the fur coats that were supposed to be in there...so if you didnt see her walk into the room and all you saw her do was open the door then it would certianly appear that there was no wardrobe....but I assure there was! Sometimes the trailer scenes are not exactly the same in the actual theatre release...I think they may have used the bright light with the little girl silouted against it for an attention grabber but in the movie itself we may get to see her push some old fur coats out of the way to reveal the hidden passage way to Narnia.

Oh and by the way....when eventually all the kids enter into the Narnian forest...it is snowing. They end up grabbing those fur coats to stay warm as they seek adventure..so those coats better be in there!

I'm really looking forward to this one!

I hope it has the same impact on moviegoers as "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, so that we can look forward to some more from this entertaining author.

Seeing the trailer for it caused me to go dig my books out and re-read em. Still great stuff for a 37 year old dude!

I hope the directors stick to the book as much as possible and that I live long enough to see ALL 7 of the movies....If they make em', that is.....

CS Lewis wrote a trilogy of "other planet" type fantasy Sc-Fi, can't remember what the name of em' was but also very good reads, more adult than the Narnia series.

I remember the older animated 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'. It was pretty cool as a kid when this came on TV. Although I do not like Disney at all, it may be worth watching.

(it would really cool if there were copious amounts of gore)

The trailer did look pretty slick though.

From what I have read they stick to the books the CS Lewis foundation would not let them do the movies unless they did so that makes it even more awesome. And yes I hope I am alive long enough to see all seven movies also. rp

Yah, Pultz, you'll make it, plenty of years left in ya'....

At least they aren't pulling a George Lucas on us and starting in the middle of the series......
