Default The Fishery

I am looking for any information that you can provide me on The Fishery. I am looking for a place to camp/launch that is a fairly easy/short run to the Multnomah Falls area on the CR. If any of you that know this area well could provide me with information about what the easiest way to get there from Portland would be as well as how the launch is and how far of a run it would be from there I would greatly appreciate it. In the past I have launched at Rooster Rock and run down there. I did launch at Dalton Pt. once but didnt like the fact that it did not have any dock. I plan on taking my family camping and fishing next weekend for the Sturgeon opener. Thanks for any and all help.

There's a campground and a "dock" at the Fishery. With the family, you might consider the Beacon Rock launch. Nicer dock and I think the camp ground is open until October 18th.

I agree with Pete, the fishery is a great little place close to fishing, but camping at Beacon rock would be much nicer & they have a launch & docks also.

the water level at Rooster Rock is very low. Last time I was there they had barricades blocking half the ramp.

You might consider camping at Ainsworth (sp) State Park, aross the highway at Exit 35, the same one you take for The Fishery. We've stayed there a couple of times. It's very nice, with showers, paved driveways at each camp site, and very reasonable. First come, first serverd, no reservations required.
