Honeymoon places?
Anybody have any specific suggestions on honeymoon places? Unusual destination suggestions that are off the beaten path would be great also.
Thanks!

Re: Honeymoon places?
I wouldn't mind hearing suggestions either as my fiance and I will be heading on ours at the end of March.

Re: Honeymoon places?
My wife and I went to Namale, a very private resort in Fiji. Its owned by Tony Robbins, the motivational speaker guy (no, no annoying speeches during the stay) and was an amazing place to go. They only take 12-13 couples at a time, and everyone's hut was isolated from others. There are times where you're social with the other guests, but mostly, everyone does their own thing without interrupting other guests. I'd go back again in a heartbeat!!
If money is no object, I've heard that Turtle Island is also top notch.

Re: Honeymoon places?
Kei Lani Hotel...Maui Hawaii is great, we went there and now have went back with the kids a few times. Bermuda is also very nice. Something closer would be The Columbia Gorge Hotel. Have a great wedding and honeymoon... Oh, if you can fish there is some good fishing out of Maui and great fishing out of Bermuda too

Re: Honeymoon places?
What time of year?
St. Lucia is incredible.
Jasper, Alberta. The Canadian Rockies are spectacular. Unless you ski, it would be more of a summer destination.

Re: Honeymoon places?
my vote is for a float plane drop off raft trip in the Bristol Bay area of Alaska. You won't see a soul. heck, you might not even see your new wife.

Re: Honeymoon places?
This Friday will be our 16 anniversery - we went to Banff qand stayed in one of the Honeymoon Suites at the Banff Springs Hotel. Being late September - the Elk were in full rut - and what a specticle they made of themselves - we stayed there for 3 days, than went to Lake Louise - we didn't stay at the Chateau we stayed at the Post Hotel. Drove to Jasper, checked out the ice fields. If you go to the Post Hotel - make your dinner reservations when you make you hotel reservations the restuarant is world class and very hard to get into. Other eateries to try - Banff Golf Course, Banff's Bear Mountain Lodge, Post Hotel and of course Chateau Lake Louise. Rent a canoe at Lake Louise and paddle up to the far end, hike up to the tea house, fish the Bow river.
Our last day there the waitress asked how our honeymoon was going and I asked how she knew we just got married - she said people who come to Banff are either newlywed or nearlydead
Good Luck and best wishes

Re: Honeymoon places?
my honeymoon started with crabbing on the southern or. coast then thru the redwoods to sanfran for the day then over to reno for some fun back to the dechutes for a day of fishing followed finally by filling my doe tag. needless to say all the testosterone created a beautiful honeymoon daughter. your honeymoon should be the speacial time you spend with each other the location is just a bonus good luck in your future.

Re: Honeymoon places?
Have you considered a cruise? Dollar for Dollar, cruises seem to be the best deal out there for all inclusives. My wife and I took our first cruise (western caribbean) on our 10 year anniversary and just loved it! We leave for our second cruise (14 year anniversary) on Saturday. I can't wait!

Re: Honeymoon places?
Another vote for Sandals. We did a week at the Grande St. Lucian and a week at Antigua. Loved them both. Would not hesitate to do any of the Sandals.

Re: Honeymoon places?
if you like something quaint and private, and very laid back,
I'd highly suggest the north shore of Kauai, Hawaii.
Honalai We stayed at this awesome little cottage in a lush jungle, next to a river. Very private and cozy. Outdoor show and tub, all the fruit you can pick. Great scenery and snorkling. All you'd need to do in the area. PM me if you want more info. I've sent others here and they all had a blast!

Re: Honeymoon places?
if it's someplace close try Orcas Island and the Rosario resort...... honeymoon cottage. There Blueberry pancakes are awesome. Or if it's far away try Canary Islands next to france and Spain
