New Player In the Egg Curing Industry
Well, its here and look out..... This stuff has been proven and now its available for all to use.....
[image] [/image]
I have had the great pleasure of field testing this stuff via some friends prior to its release and let me tell you.... It is the bomb of all egg cures.... Except Priddy's of course
This stuff has the name & reputation of the Pautzke Bait Co. and with a guy like Mark Yano's imprint on it, I know what I am getting.....
If you guys don't have this in your arsenal, I suggest you get on up to your neighborhood GI Joe's and get some of this stuff.....
I have had the pleasure of attending some of Mark Yano's seminars via the NW Steelheaders and this man has mega-knowledge regarding egg fishing so trust me when I tell you, this stuff will work for you......
I will also try the new "Moster Bite" by Pro-Cure in conjunction with my curing process to see what that will get me.....
I also want to say by buying this product, you will be making a difference by contributing to the NSIA (NW Sportfishing Industry Association)which is a group that is dedicated to sportswomen & men to enhance our fisheries here in the NW.....
Happy fishing all and like I said, if you don't have some of this stuff in your arsenal, then you are definately missing out

Re: New Player In the Egg Curing Industry
Like many others I do plan on trying this sometime Terry, though I talked to Mark a few weeks ago and he did tell me he did leave out about ten percent of what he puts in his cure when they made this new cure. Can't expect him to give up all his secrets I guess.

Re: New Player In the Egg Curing Industry
RR,
I am sure you are correct in regards to leaving out 10% because i surely don't blame him if he did that.....
I am sure all the guides have that little bit of extra in their own revisions vs. what they sell OTC....
Sorry to burst some bubbles on that one but you are more than correct on this in my opinion.

Re: New Player In the Egg Curing Industry
ONLY 10%!!! That WAY better than MOST of the other guides out there that sell "their" cures. Most of the OTC cures are extremely far from what the guide who makes it actually uses himself. You can't blame the guy. The pictures from their success as guides make people run out and buy their OTC cure, yet, their OTC cure isn't competing with them for "effectiveness" when they are on the river. It's a beautiful system. You get paid on both ends, can't beat that.
Don't get me wrong, most of the OTC cures are great and catch fish, they are just missing the "X factor", right guys?
Oh, and as for this cure, I'm DEFINTITELY going to give it a shot....with a few select additives, of course .

Re: New Player In the Egg Curing Industry
Never hurts to add to the arsenal(sp).
I believe like many others that many of the commercial cures are good and that changing them just a bit can make all the difference.

Re: New Player In the Egg Curing Industry
I'd like to see some of the guides stockpiles
I did omit some items for security .

Re: New Player In the Egg Curing Industry
Nice display RR......
Quite impressive.....
I too am one to believe that the guides utilize their success to sell some spinoff of their "go to" stuff and would never part with their "Real Cures."
All I can say is that it is all good because podunk hillbillys like myself have done much research and have developed many iterations of those base cures that the "Professionals" sell....
I have had so much fun in my research and figured all the chemestry I have learned through the years is really paying off

Re: New Player In the Egg Curing Industry
It is fun. It's a blast trying to figure out something that will drive those fish to not only strike your eggs but swallow them. it can also be frustrating.
I wonder what it was like for Guys like Gary Amerman or Mark Yano back in the day to find something that stood out compared to all other cures and just smash the fish .
Fishing and curing eggs is the most enjoyable aspect to fishing for me.

You curing eggs or is that the remnants of a meth lab?
Salmon on crack? That's not right. As if it wasn't hard enough to be a Salmon already. Now they have to deal with crack in the water.

Re: New Player In the Egg Curing Industry
Got a dozen jars of Fire Cured eggs in the freezer from this summer and headed to the Chetco this weekend to give them a real test of fall Chinook. See how those early kings like a gob floated below a bobber.
BTW, heard the Chetco estuary started to really take off Sunday afternoon. Best of all, big fish (35-plus-pounders).

Re: New Player In the Egg Curing Industry
I went to G.I. Joes on Saturday, and finally got my hands on some Pautzke's Firecure. I was looking for a pink or red, but there was a single bottle of orange left, so I figured I better jump on it.
I have some eggs curing in it right, and they are looking good. This is the first year I'll have multiple, respectable cures in my boat, so it will be interesting to see what works best for me.
