Ducks vs Bulldogs
I know that there are a bunch of O.S.U. Beaver fans on ifish, but let's give the Ducks some kudos for their exciting comeback win against Fresno State.
Down 17 zip before you could down half a dozen wings, the Ducks went to a no-huddle offense and took the lead by half time. The Bulldogs couldn't make defensive adjustments fast enough to to stop them.
The second half was a slugfest the rest of the way, making for a great college football game.
A word to the wise for the Ducks: Don't come into the game half-asleep when the bad-boy Trojans come to town next week, because there won't be any miracle comeback against that defense!
Anyway, Great comeback against F.S.U., and be sure get to bed early next Friday night!

Re: Ducks vs Bulldogs
USC is going to steamroll them unless the Ducks put together a whole game that looks like their 2nd quarter did against North Bakersfield...oops, I mean Fresno State. That was a good game, though. After the first quarter, I was ready to switch it off and go to bed (working graveyard this weekend). "Same old University of California-Eugene", I was thinking. Get behind early, then roll over and curl up in a fetal position while your opponent beats the stuffing out of you. They should give their new OC a big raise, if it his idea to go to the no-huddle. Woke them boys up.

Re: Ducks vs Bulldogs
The Ducks were just lucky the game wasn't about 2 minutes longer. They have got to win their games by more than 3 all the time.

Re: Ducks vs Bulldogs
That was one of the best games I've been to in several years.
Just remember next time, don't sit so close to the band.
But I did make it on Duck Vision.

How many more flags would have been thrown against Fresno ST if they had 2 more min is the question I have. I was there as well, what a great game. I will have to agree though, they better get up for this next one or they could look like the Beavs did this last weekend.

Re: Ducks vs Bulldogs
Big UPS to the ducks for that win!
Fresno State is no weak football team...Pat Hill has that team ready to play!
That will make this weekends game a lot more interesting...but there is still no way that the ducks come close to beating the trojans.
I wonder if this win will earn the ducks a ranking

Re: Ducks vs Bulldogs
Bring on USC? Are you crazy? Did you not see they have scored 70 in both their games so far. In their first 8 plays last week they had 4 td's. They have three potential heisman winners, with Lineart as the present trophy holder. He's something like 27-1 as a starter. I'm all for school spirit, but not foolishness. I predict lots of empty seats by halftime. Trojans 56 Ducks 10. I'll put up a free Grande Ronde trip if anyone wants to wager this? I'm in need of a nice fall coastal salmon trip. Let's get it on!

Re: Ducks vs Bulldogs
I'm a big Ducks fan. I don't see them geeting beat by 40, but I do see them losing. Probably 42-27 or something like that. 2 maybe 3 TDs diff. I agree on their talent level, but once a fan always a fan, and you never know....

Re: Ducks vs Bulldogs
I don't think the Oregon offense will let USC have the ball long enough to put up 70 pts. If the Ducks don't give up the quick big plays it will be a good game. They've gotten better every game.

Re: Ducks vs Bulldogs
Las Vegas odds are USC by 21 points.
Tough one to call. UO has been wildly erratic over the last couple years, especially coming off a big win, like the previously mentioned Michigan game. Their whole season went right into the dumpster after that one. But there's no SI curse this time.
One thing I liked was that nobody from UO would talk about USC before the Fresno State game. They were 100% focused on FSU, and it showed.....well, at least after the first quarter, anyway. If they keep their composure like they did after falling behind last Saturday, then they have a chance to at least keep it close.
Who knows?

Re: Ducks vs Bulldogs
It doesn't matter anyway, the Cougs are headed to LA to beat USC down there, so that will lift a bit of the load when Oregon doesn't get it done.

Re: Ducks vs Bulldogs
The only reason USC has scored 70 points in each of their last 2 games is because they haven't had to play anybody worth playing yet. That's like Oregon beating the pants off of Montana! get real here.
Ducks 39 USC 36

Re: Ducks vs Bulldogs
You all talk the talk, but no one is up for a friendly wager? As for hurt trojans, even if Lineart was out, you'd still have a Booty and a Bush in the backfield. Do you really think that the ducks corners can even run with Smith and Jarred, more or less cover them? They will run like corvettes on that fast turf. Remember the SC coach is a big fish in a small pond. This is all fun and games for Pete Carroll. He's living the high life in Sunny Cali. on a campus full of half naked co-eds. These guys could beat half the NFL teams. I'd take SC over the Seahawks ANYDAY. Too bad it'll never happen. Sorry for the ribbing, Glad you all have great spirit for your team. Just don't take the beating too hard. It's really nothing personal. Just FOOTBALL. Yeah, baseball is almost over! The ducks won't be the worst defeat of the year in the Pac 10 from SC. My bet is the coug's get skinned BADLY! There will be lots of 50 yd line seats available at half down in LA. MAGNUM, BTW, they'll have 36 by halftime, if not the first quarter.

Re: Ducks vs Bulldogs
Ducks..... beat USC
Ducks beat SC: I don't think so.....
Even I am a realist..... I would like to think my team (Louisville) could play with USC but I am sorry, they are almost Pro-Team potential..... Hell, Leinart could put more than 1/2 the NFL QB's on the bench right now.....
SC is probably one of the best college teams I have ever seen in my lifetime...... That is scarey.....

Have you been drinkin' some of grandpa's cough medicine? That is not a statement that should be made about the Cougars of Pullman...
