Introductions...
I spose before I just jump in and act like I grew up here, I should introduce myself...
On iFish, I go by Mello-Yello. Most of my short time here has been spent on Salty Dogs. However, with huntin season just around the corner, I decided to venture into here. Looks like a good place to hang out too!
In real life, I go by Steve (though I've been called a lot of other things too...) I've been hunting w/bow and arrow virtually every year since I was a pup, though I did hunt with rifle a few years as a teenager. Didn't like people watching me through their scopes, so I ducked back into bowhunting.
I've had a lot of successful hunts, literally to the point where I don't think I could remember every animal I've taken. I've also made my share of mistakes. I'm nobody special, just a guy that's made bowhunting and archery a big part of his life for about 35 yrs. I'll include a couple pictures of my favorites...
300# black bear
Roosevelt Elk
Hopefully I can contribute something from time to time.

Re: Introductions...
Nice bull, Mello. Looks like you probably had a lot of fun getting him out of there.
Let's see, if that were me, the rig would be uphill...

Re: Introductions...
Congrats on the great bear and elk. Sounds like you probably have some good fishin' stories you could toss out on the net, too.
Welcome to the club.

Re: Introductions...
Skein, we actually got him out WHOLE! Two Toyota 4x4s mule-trained together and 300 yards of cable...I have some great pics I'll throw together sometime. As for the bear, he came out in a wheelbarrow. Only had to drag him 30 yds to the road, then 1 1/2 miles to the gate. You ever try to slow down a bear in a wheelbarrow, going down hill in new gravel?

Re: Introductions...
M-Y where are you headed this weekend?? Looks like most of the forest is going to be open. I saw a couple of good bulls up the E.Fork the other night coming off of Daniels Creek. I'm heading up Allegany but it should be crowded up there for the opener. Let me know how you do.

Re: Introductions...
Right now I have no specific plans. I have to travel to PDX Tue-Sat, so I'm not going to get real serious till I get back.
I'll probably head out Fairview somewhere and bail off into some thick, brushy stuff and start milling around. Right now I'm not so excited about getting an elk, so much as I am with pouring elk pee on my clothes and sitting in a fern patch...taking it all in.
Boy, the mornings are starting to smell like hunting season aren't they? Only thing missing is the valley choked with slash-burn smoke.
Good Luck! I'll post if anything worthy of posting should happen...
M-Y
PS, if you guys find a big bull that no one wants, let me know.
