Default Formula One in Belgium PICS ADDED

Spent last weekend in Spa-Franchorchamps Belgium watching the F1 race.

What a show.

Cars so loud it hurts, driving so fast on a wet track that it makes your head spin. You've never seen anything like an F1 car raging through Eau Rouge and over the hill.

My ears are still ringing, and I'm still smiling.

Between you and Salty Walty, I don't know who I'm more envious of! The last of the grand tracks and you both had the opportunity to feast on the show!

Spa was AWESOME, Watching the 4 different series, walking the track and seeing it firsthand was Top 5 on my life list. There is no conceivable way that you can appreciate the greatness of this track just by watching it on TV. Eau Rouge is STEEP, Blanchimont is a true test of skill and bravery and the run down to Pouhon? I am still scratching my head as to how you could even think of entering a downhill double apex corner at 170mph with the first apex being off camber in the dry and almost that fast in the wet. True racing at its finest.

F1 will be in my backyard soon, the fast boys will be in town in October, I plan to be in either Pit row or the hair pin. The Shanghai track is 15 minutes from my house, and I bought a new camera just for it

You're going to have a blast, Gus. The sights and sounds of an F1 weekend were like nothing I'd ever seen before.

I'd advise taking earplugs too. I tossed the ones our tour group gave us, but by the end of race day, my ears were begging for mercy.

I'll look forward to your report on your F1 experience. Have fun.
