Default Seats filled!on Sea Lion this Saturday Sept 17th.

Well I am leaning towards running with my bros.
Fishing Saturday.
I should hit Newport Friday night where I will try to make bait.
Send a PM if interested, experienced crew prefered.
This is a common adventure trip and all expenses are shared.
I am not a charter operator.

Ray,
Best of luck brother...

I'd be there in a heartbeat, but I'm out with Nalu (Mike) on the Sea-J Saturday.

When's the next search for Mr. BIG by the way...might there be an open seat for that adventure?

Yes!, Yes!, Yes!, but will there be any open seats, in the search for Mr. BIG? I've still got several vacation days saved up...and the credit card is no where near it's max!

Nalu is ALWAYS an enjoyable trip. I was thinking about getting him a date with my sister...it's easier to bum rides from Brothers-in-Law!

On second thought though...my sister...naw, he'd probably hold it against me! I'll stick to the regular method of bumming a ride, plying him with PBR's.

We will see John. I doubt it will be this year as it will require a significant investment in gear, but it is going to happen.
Stay tuned...

What are you people thinking out there. Here is a great skipper and no takers on an open seat????

Well Ray if you get no takers and are stuck in town you have a couple of options:

My lawn needs mowed and bushes need trimed
Ms. B Have is still building stuff and getting crotchier by the minute.

I am sure you will find a crew in time. Go get them.

I have never heard more excuses in my life.
Usually a few bad things before a trip means the fishing will be awsome. At this rate this trip will be EPIC!
One thing is certain, I WILL NOT BE DOING YARD WORK THIS WEEKEND!
Donlt let my wife read that...

Suggestion: Have a look at the post stuck to the top of the salty dogs page. It's been there for quite a while.

See ya at the ramp Ray. We are shoving off at 0530 on 9/17.

I'll try to find some bait for both boats for the flat ones on the way out.

John, I am thinking with the full moon we will experience a good afternoon bite. I am not in a big hurry. I would prefer to maximize my fuel burn during more productive times. But if we decide to bag a but first we should leave a bit earlier. Sunrise is at 6:57 and low tide is 6:17. 4.2 foot tide change so not too bad. Slack tide at 7:18 according to the current graph. Max current at 03:39 and 10:45 is only 3.6 knots.

http://www.ifish.net/forum/showflat....;page=0#943724

Check that thread. We are going to start just east of the break 2 or 3 miles and march west in a line 3 miles apart. A degree of lattitude is about a mile. I think we have it covered from 44 23 to 44 29.

From what I can see it looks good clear out to 125 20. This is not set in stone but Mark has a good idea with the grid search. Last time I was here the fish were on a north - south line that coincided with a temp break. East of there .. nothing, on that line we got busy quick.

We might put the lights out tonight this time if'n you want to do that again.
