Oil usage on 150 Yamaha?

I've only ran about 8 gallans of gas through my new to me motor but it looks like the oil resevior hasn't even budged. Any idea on how much oil is used per gallan of gas?
Last night I put a mark on the resevior so I can track how much oil is being used. I've got all the alarms and gauges hooked up for low oil warnings but...I've heard two many horror stories of direct oil injection failure.

Mine uses VERY little. I don't think you would see it move with just 8 gal of gas used. Mine is a 02 and it's easy on both gas and oil.

I ran my 150 Yamaha for 7 years. I could not believe how little oil they use. Never worried about it though. The last time I had it serviced the compression was still at the top end. I had well over 1000 hours on it. Just filled the oil reservoir and let er rip.

On the oil injected models of Yamaha the oil is injected at variable levels. As much as 50 to 1, and as little as 100 to 1. From my experience with my twin 200's, both older ones, and brand new ones, the oil usage has always been closer to the low end.

Oil reservoir is 2.5 gallons. Figuring a mean of 75-1, at 8 gallons you should have gone through a little less than 1 pint of oil.

This comes out to about 1.7 oz per gallon.

Don't worry about the Yamaha Oil Injection. It's solid.
