Default ?? pregnancy test for dog?

A bit unusual I know. But my lab was in heat a few weeks ago and I noticed her n-ipples swelling. I didn't breed her and am wondering if somehow she managed to meet up with some fine (or more likely not so fine) fellow through the fence. It's possible. This is not good timing since I start hunting her Sept. 1st.

I heard home pregnancy tests work for pigs. Anyone know a preg. test for dogs besides going to the vet?? I'd like to assess my options before she's too far along. Also, can you abort the pups without getting her fixed?

any help would be appreciated. Hopefully she's not pregnant. I don't want a litter of pups in the middle of the season....

thanks.

If you are reasonably certain your dog didn't hook up, it is likely she is having a 'false pregnancy'. My female lab went through this on her last heat and it can last up to 9 weeks after she comes out of season. She will exhibit many of the physical signs of pregnancy. Keep an eye on her or you can simply make a quick visit to the vet.

The other option is wait ~70 days and see if anything 'pops' up.
