I have been applying for antelope by tearing a $100 in half and putting half with the application and a note that says you can have the other half when the tag arrives.

So far I have a stack of 1/2 hundreds and no tag so it obviously doesnt work.

Wish I had a tag to chase some antelope.

Nice looking bucks there RJ

Only nine years? Man I have been trying for white horse for well over 10 years. I've actually lost track it has been so long. I think it was even before the point system. Keep donating the $4.50 for the cause every year. Great job though. I look forward to being there someday (Dare to Dream)

Waited 10 years for my Whiehorse tag. We looked at over 80 bucks, guys were going out in all directions to find my him for me, over a four day period. The highlights for the trip were the hotel room (running water and a bed) and the 14 3/4 inch buck. It should score about 76 and make the Oregon Book. And yes it was hot, about 100 degrees on Tuesday when the goat was taken. The downside is the hunt is over and the long wait is on again before I can do this again. One small piece of advise for would be goat hunters, bring the best bino's you can muster up.

That whould be me. Clint is one stand up guy. Fun to hunt with, works hard (we avg. 15.5 hours of hunting time per day) and knows his stuff.
My success was totally because of him. Yes, I pulled the trigger but there was no way in heck I had the ability to harvest that animal without Clint's help. I can not say enough good things about his abilities and hopefully will have another oppertunity to hunt with him.

I hate to hurt everyone's feeling but five years ago I drew the Whitehorse tag the first year I put in for it. I made the fatal mistake of shooting my buck in the sun set one evening and he was not as big as I thought. I will be making up for that tag for a long time. Maybe I will get lucky again someday. 3 of my friends all took buck above 14 inches. One was 15 3/4 inches tall with good prongs. Where you guy's hunting around Antelope resavoir?

I hunted mostly by Jackie's Butte on the West side of the river, however, that is not where the goat was shot. Took a side trip to the overlook area for the animal.

Five years ago was a very good year for antelope. A friend of mine and his buddy shot goats in the Whitehorse unit that went 17 1/8" and 16 7/8". Very impressive animals.

Congrats, RJ! It's nice to get a tag, and when you do, to score a nice buck like that. Looks like you've got a date with a taxidermist.

Someday I'm gonna draw a tag.....someday.

Speed goats.

Good point Northriver about the bino's, they would be your most bestest friend out there.

Nice job!!
My wife drew a Juniper tag, and managed to poke a 14 1/2 with great prongs and 7" bases, which the bio said is as big as he's seen. He's also got one broken tip (about 1/3") on his left side, and an extra prong on the right just below his tip.
He's a beauty, but nothing compared to the one we saw at 409 yards. It was quite windy, and he was surrounded by a whole herd of Billy's, so we were forced to pass, then could not find him again. He was a solid 18", maybe bigger, with beams that compared with the one she killed. He would have been high in the Oregon records.
We had just looked at a nice 14-15"er before that, and he was laying near some other respectable bucks--the contrast was AMAZING!!
They are out there people!!!!

Congrats RJ looking REAL nice. Lets see, got seven points now and it seems to take another point every year. Maybe by 2053? Oops I'll be long gone by then!

Why dont any of you Pronghorn droolers go out of state... Wyoming is just the other side of Idaho (20 hour drive) and has 4 times more goats than people.

Over the counter tags ($100) and a state that has a high percentage of public lands. I have shot 9 Wyoming Pronghorn ovet the years, trust me its easy pickings.

Just a thought

I hunt in Montana for goats and drew three tags this year with the option to buy another one. Go West young men. Montana out of state costs $203 and you should draw almost every year or every other year. You have a good chance of getting a 15+ inch buck  if you know where to hunt and spend a week doing so.
