Default Trask steelhead with Len Self

Floated the Trask on Monday and within the first hour had my first two steelhead EVER!! Len Self was very helpful, a kind and patient teacher--showing me how to cast a baitcasting reel and how to avoid, or, if I messed up, how to unravel the backlash. My new to me dog, a rescue GSP, was a little squirrely, being a hunter not a fisher dog. Len said he'd learn in time. My dog's new raincoat and life jacket kept his little shorthair body warm and somewhat dry. Had the best dinner that night; boy steelhead are tasty! froze the rest in water, per Len's suggestion. I haven't developed my photos yet, too busy with work to get to the developer--but will post pictures of " me two proud beauties" one male, one female, when I get the pictures. The Trask is breathtaking, especially up the road. No tigers, bears or cats spotted on the drift, but elk tracks on the gravel bars. E2

Len is a real pro. He has forgot more about fishing these waters than most of us know.
