Columbia River Mouth South Jetty Fishing - Where?

Posting for my Sister-in-law: Where on the Columbia River south jetty do you fish? I know Area D and i've been to the viewing tower there, so using that as a reference point, where can I fish and expect to catch fish of any type? I did a search but didn't find specific info on Area D or Fort Stevens or South Jetty so I pose the question here.

From the viewing tower: for surf perch right at the tower, for greenling and sea trout go the the first bend about 1/2 mile out, for ling and salmon go past the the bend about 1-1 1/2 miles out. Going out a long way can be quite dangerous and is very tiring, know your limit and go with a buddy. Also take an extra setup because if something happens to your gear you're a long way out. I used to fish that strech of water a lot. let me know how you do out there.
