Default Rescue Lab needs a good hunting type home

Hi:
My name is Sparky. I’m a two year old yellow male (Well was until last Friday anyway). My previous owners had one too many dogs so I was selected to go. I was sent to my new foster parents at Northwest Labrador Retriever Rescue. I had some separation anxiety the first couple of days. While sitting in my new kennel run howling I see this big guy coming my way with a lease I could tell he was slightly agitated so I prepared for the worse. He came in put the lease on me and took me for a little walk and then brought me inside the house. This is more like it I thought. I got to go to the master bed room. There once the lights went out I went to the big guys side of the bed and met the alpha of the house hold she let me know right away that her bed was hers and not to be shared. A little jump and score I have a nice soft bed for the night. I did hear some grumbling about why does a dog have to sleep cross ways on a bed instead of vertical but, hey what’s a dog supposed to do. The next day back on the lease for a walk when I start my running and dragging technique which I spent two years perfecting I, all of a sudden came up short very quickly with a sharp word from the big guy. I tried again and came up short again. Finally I’m walking and not pulling and getting really nice sounds and pats on the sides. This was the start of my training. I have since learned to sit, walk on a leash and am working on come. I have also perfected that technique. Once off the leash for the first 30 seconds yea fat chance this is my time, second 30 seconds well I will think about it but I have to sniff one more tree. Then I have to get my exercise and do one lap around the three acre dog field. Then if you call me I will come and sit and be ready for the training dummy. I have really learned to love that piece of plastic. Today while it was being thrown I heard a very loud blast it even made it more exciting and the big guy was very very happy when I brought it back the noise didn’t even bother me. Well enough about my last four weeks. It has been a blast except for the vet visit.
Here is a little about me.

Yellow Male
2 years old
Looking for a hunting home first and foremost but will settle for a nice pet home. I do prefer to come in the house though so keep that in mind.
I get along with cats, female or neutered dogs, (Maybe the males now that I have been fixed)
Hobbies include Retrieving, retrieving, eating, sleeping, Pillow for peoples head while resting in the floor, smelling the flowers, chasing the birds, checking out the trees.
I have never really learned to play with other dogs but I will let the young puppies chew on my ears and legs without chewing them up I just try and ignore them.
I really think that with a little work I can make someone a good hunting dog. I come with my papers that certify my breeding that I have good strong hunting lines in my back ground. I have also been told that I look like a lab and am nice to look at.
Energy level is a strong 7 not too hyper just right for a hunting home I think.

Contact the big guy or talk to his dad who has been doing a lot of my training. I’m looking for that perfect family who needs what I have to offer.

Northwest Labrador Retriever Rescue has been out a little over a hundred dollars for medical procedures for neutering and bring all of my shots up to date. They would like to ask for a donation to cover these procedures.

Call the big guy or his father who has been doing most of my training at 503-366-9645 or email at spiritlabs@aol.com.

Bluedog has fist dibs if this guy will work for him.

Dan

Not sure who your nephew and wife are Tully. He is still available I have several interested in him. Do they live in Salem area. It basically comes down to who comes out to see him and picks him up. So we will see.

Dan!

Capin,
I was interested in the dog...I have a five yr old male uncut. I am the alpha male in the family and we have no problems after the introduction to other dogs. The dogs that I have had in the past get more pampered than any dog or human should be! It's okay, they are worth it. I would like to know how big are we talking about? My lab is 85 lbs, stout and strong as an ox (most likely from wrestling with me so much). If I cannot take the dog, I know of a dog trainer sho is looking to getting into hunting dogs and lives on a farm in Newberg. His background is in French Ring (attack dog sport training). He can work with any temperment and trains according to the dog. email me and just keep me posted. I see that I am down the list a ways.
Thanks

Sparky went to his new home yesterday. I think that he is going to start loving life and get to do what he was bred to do. All you folks who showed interest. YOU GUYS ROCK.
I will keep you post of dogs as they come in.

Thanks Dan!
