I guess it was my turn? Our car was broken into at Bell Square Mall. Maybe my story will save someone else the misery of dealing with their insurance company on theft coverage.
I took my family to a soccer tournament in Redmond last weekend. Had a great day saturday, but on Sunday before the kids first game we decided to do a little shopping at the Bellevue Square mall. I parked about 75 yards from the Valet parking booth on the first level and within 45 minutes my car was broken into and they stole nearly everything we took to seattle for the weekend. They got a pda, digital camera, 35mm camera, suite case full of overnight clothing and supplies for a family of 5, a cell phone, and a new soccer bag and cleats, to name a few. It devistated my wife and kids. I guess I just felt too safe at Bell Square to be robbed. I learned a valuable lesson, your valuables are not safe any where, so don't leave anything in your car you don't want to give away. They disabled the standard car alarm by punching out the drivers door lock, so I guess some kind of motion sensor would have been better than the factory alarm. I'm still a little depleated over the whole incident, but planning on going salmon fishing this weekend down on the CR. Another notorious place for car break-ins.
I hope my story will save others the anguish my family has been through.
I almost forgot, They took the most valuable thing I owned.........My Ifish ball cap!
So if anyone sees some Crack head in Bellevue with an Ifish ball cap, whereing soccer cleats, playing with his pda, call 911 for me and drop me a pm please.
