Default Washington bear hunt

Is anyone heading out Friday for the opening of Bear season? My 13 year old is in town until the 19th and Ill be taking him out again this year to treck through the woods. He loves the thrill of a hunt. Anyone have some locations they'd care to share where you have seen bear? Id love to see my sons face if we can even just spot one this year.

I have the day off so will be going out scouting. With the weather we have had lately I would say stick to the lower ground, and ripe berry patches. You have a lot of good areas within a hours drive. We may be going as high as 3800', north east of Yacolt. Hope to have a better idea after a couple of scouting trips.
Good luck to both of you.
