Help!! Orphaned fawn on property, what to do???
I came back today from a camping trip over the weekend. I get home and my dad proceeds to tell me there is a deer in our pasture, no big deal we see a lot of them. Well it appears though that we have a fawn that is orphaned. It made it's way into the pasture, but does not seem to be able to find its way out. Has spent much of its time bedded down about 20 yards from the house. What should we do??????

Leave it alone.

Yep. Nature has to take it's course, whether it lives or dies, unfortunately. :depressed:

I'd say try to get it out the the pasture (if it is fenced in & and without touching the fawn if possible)...and then leave it alone. The fence/pasture is not a part of nature and seems to be interfering. Maybe that will somehow help it...maybe not, but atleast you will know your fence is not at fault.

Yep, I would make sure that the reason that it is in the pasture is not because it is stuck, then I would leave it alone.

Well the fawn finally found a way out. Looked like it hooked up with a couple does that I chased around earlier tonight. Well it was with a couple of does, now only one, for more on that see other post.
