Default Seeing as many fawns as me?

It seems like everytime I go out to scout I see tons of fawns and they are nice and healthy. Anyone else seeing this? The future looks bright.

It looks like we have a Westside and Eastside observation. When I took my eastside trip, I saw normal numbers of fawns in the Desolation unit, but did observe some Does that seemed to be thin, could see their ribs. Murderers Creek unit up high we did not see very many deer and most of the Does that we saw did not have a fawn. The Does looked in better shape than the Does in Desolation.

Westside in Saddle Mountain before the private woods shut down I had made several trips and had seen a fair number of deer. Again I did not see what I would think would be normal numbers of fawns. I would have thought the fawns would have been old enough to be with mom, but maybe not. Deer looked in great shape though.

I'm seeing a lot too, in the Roseburg area. Still not many deer, but the does I see are about 60% with fawns, which is much better than it's been for years now. I'm pretty surprised that the fawns are doing so well since I've seen coyotes chasing deer each of the last two weekends. That's what I hate about bowhunting - you can't whack a coyote unless it runs right in front of you. Oh well.

Wow we are only seeing a few deer mostly single does. I have seen one doe with twins this year. I have seen a few more deer than last year but we avg one or 2 deer per big clearcut. I am still not too optomistic yet that we are out of the woods over here in NW Oregon. I would excpect to see small groups of deer if the numbers are up and I am not seeing that at all. In the Scappoose unit.

I hunted northside unit opening week and saw a ton of deer. Lots of forked horns....not too many big bucks though. Killed a forked horn.

But I did see a lot of fawns. Every doe seemed to have one and most all had twins.

I agree.....looking good for the future.

Beatys Butte had a great crop. Half the deer I saw were fawns and they looked great. The Ochoco had a decent crop and quite a few doubles.

So majority of this discussion has to do with the East side?
Just wondering. Not that is bad just wondering if people are seeing more fawns in the NW side?

Was that in NW Oregon. We are off the road believe me just wondering? There have been pockets of deer for the last couple of years and then they thin out. My brother lives in Rainier and last year he hardly saw a deer on his place this year he is seeing more which is good news.

Lots around Corvallis area, have a couple twins that visit the house about every night in fact......and just this morning saw triplets on the drive out. They all look OK, at least not as many with the hair loss disease like last year.
