Irish Wake report 9/3 from Newport
Jumpers everywhere. "As far as the eye could see" said Jim.
They bonked 11 fish, all on fishtraps, all casting. Couldn't buy a bite on the troll.
Caught about 24-26 miles out from Newport towards the 61 spot.
Sounds like most had similar reports, some less, some more.
Sure glad I had to work today.
Anyone know of a part-time job with full-time pay that I could land? Part-time meaning: anytime fish aren't biting somewhere on the planet.

Rod, thanks for passing along the report. Glad to hear that Jim got some fish casting the Traps. I bet he is a happy guy!
I am going out of Depoe tomorrow, did he give you any numbers where they were at? Sounds like we should run into the fish if we head towards the 61 spot?
If you want you can have my job, it's a full time job with part time pay...!!!

Oh yea, and one more thing... Thanks most of all to Net Fun for providing the Net and the Fun, (and the boat). That C-dory is an awsome fishing machine.
Hey, it's midnight, shouldn't I be sleeping or something. Maybe if I count tuna jumping over a fence, I mean sheep jumping over a tuna, I mean....well you know what I mean.
Goodnight

Re: Irish Wake report 9/3 from Newport
TWB,
Just got home from a great day on the big blue with Roostafish. I'm glad I brought John along because he had the lucky pole today!
We were headed from Newport towards Tuna town but had to stop for jumpers at around 44 49.5 by 124 37. That is a starting point because they are scattered all over. We would slide in to a boil and cast (per Mark Mc) with fish traps. I think the thumping of the Tuna in the box scared the birds and put the Tuna down. Then we would move on to find the next bunch. We got a couple on the troll (and lost one) Good luck tomorrow!

Re: Irish Wake report 9/3 from Newport
Man, what a day on the water. We were fortunate enough to get an invite from Skein the other day and joined him. I think that was me you saw from the nose of the boat. About 4 pm, we were in a spot with jumpers in every direction. Not a single hit on the troll, all were caught casting into the schools. A new trick for me to add to the tuna fishing arsenal. Thanks again guys for bringing us out there. Can't wait to do it again. Glad you were thinking of us Rod, isn't working GREAT!!!!!
