I stopped by Broken Arrow archery tonight to meet my hunting parter to look at arrows and rest, and ran into Wayne Carlton.

He was going to give a speech later in the evening and was just hanging out. We spent an hour talking to him and what a nice guy.
I told him it wasnt necessarily his brand of calls but I have a problem with the reed on some of the calls sticking to the call, expecially the sceery cow call when they get a little moisture on them. He goes over and shows me his new elk call out this year. He had the same problem with his calls and when cleaning the call he used a scotch brite pad and it scuffed up the surface a little and the reed quit sticking to it. So his new call comes with a textured surface next to the reed so it wont stick.
I kind of like the design and he can really make it sing. It was $6.95   which is way cheap for a call.
Of course he then showed me his new diaphram call with the sound chamber on it. It is a little plastic piece that goes up over one side of the latex. Wayne blew his, and of course it sounded pretty good, but I think he could make most anything sound good.
I will be scuffing up my other calls next to the reed so they wont stick and make that sick sheep sound at an inopportune time when wet
