Default Digital or analog flat panel monitor?

Starting to shop around for a new PC. I pretty much know what I want except for one thing- the monitor.
I want an LCD flat panel, but I didn't know there was digital and analog ones. Naturally, the digital is about $100-$200 more, depending on the size and a few other factors.
Does anybody know if there's a huge difference in image quality? I'm not a gamer or heavy into graphics. I do have an upscale digital camera, but I don't do a lot of photo editing and whatnot. I might at some point, though.
I like my PC images to be sharp, and I keep my PCs for a few years, so I want my new one to be technologically current and not obsolete by next month. But I don't want to spend extra $$ for an upgrade that might not be noticeable.

Any input would be appreciated!

Default Re: Digital or analog flat panel monitor?

Depends on the digitial media content you have, and if you want it converted to analog (?) you get better reproduction of Digitial video sources, Digitial camera and if you were attaching it to HDTV/ditigal TV content. if you are just going to be using it as a computer 90% of the time,, probably not needed IMO.
