Rich,

I'll chime in here too....The best trapping forum I've found online is www.trapperman.com

In order to register to this forum he will send you a questionaire by email. Just answer it and send it back and you can participate on the forum.
(He does this to weed out the anti-trappers that try to sabotage the forum)

I've learned more off of that forum in 6 months that I probably would have learned in 6 years on my own. There are very few trappers where I live, and the forum there has been my main mentor.

As I mentioned on the other thread, Cascade Trappers supply in tacoma, WA (253-537-3277) has a full line of trapping supplies, and used gear too.

I have also had good luck with DUKE trap co. I have bought a couple of dozen offset, duke traps in #2 and #3 size and with base-plating and replacing the springs with music wire, have been very satisified with the product for the money.

I forgot to mention that "night latching" and filing the offsets on the duke traps, also helps. Base plating and four coiling (or using music wire springs) helps too. I'd also recommend a shock spring on the chain too. I beefed up the chain with #2 machine chain, because the duke chains just aren't quite as sturdy as I like with coyotes, (they can be hard on equipment)
