Default What VHF Channel

What VHF channel do most of you Ifishers monitor and use when out on the Coulumbia between Longview and Portland?? What about down in Astoria?????

I monitor 16 and switch to 68 6o have a short chat. I think that is standard in the Portland area. 16 is emergency channel so most monitor that in case someone needs assistance!

same here -16 (14 sometimes up by the dam so I can listen to commercial traffic)

If your VHF was sold after about 1925, it will monitor 16, the distress frequency autmatically, plus whatever else you select. Look at Chapman Piloting for additional frequencies. Loclly, 71, 68 and a few others could be what you are looking for.
