What's the easiest time to get into animals?

Centerfire season is obviously choked with competition.

I could be able to get equipped to muzzle load, or bow hunt, and I don't mind a lot of hiking and work. Are the chances of getting into animals better in these other seasons? Is it too severely counterbalanced by the limitations of the weapons?

tough questions. The "best" season depends on too many variables. Use the weapon you enjoy and make the most of it. I've got a suspicion the hunted know what season it is and are always on the wary.

I usually try to get out there the first of febuary,ang go on a week night(less people )I also don't pack anything bigger than a 22 cal(The report wakes people up )It is kinda hard to take down an elk,so i usually just unload the whole clip on it.Good luck and happy hunting

the camera season, or you could just go farther back into the woods than most other hunters and any season is the best for getting into game.

Go buy an Oregon Points Percentage book. It lists the success rates for previous seasons. You can also find the same information at ODFW. This could help narrow down your search a little bit.

You are probably going to see the most deer/elk during the bow season, but that doesn't mean that they will be in range for a bow.
