Default Upper Deschutes help ( Deer )

Since I will be only hunting weekends this year and with a non hunting partner I decided to give this unit a go as it is close for me.
Looking for some general info on where to start at. Not looking for "your" spot just a little hint. I'm going to head over that way next week and take a look around.
I have spent some time down around Crescent and found good numbers years ago but I'd like to be a little closer.

Looking at the regs it show no road closure areas and was wondering if this is right or not.

Thanks in advance!!

Hey, I'll ask my aunt tonight the name of the road she and my uncle used to go camp on. They hunted that unit for years. Once I know, I'll give you a call.

I like to hunt some kind of clearing in the morning and than hit the timber after that and hunt slow.
I bought a couple maps today to study a little and am looking at the Three Creeks lake area. I'm guessing thats a popular area and hoping its not.

all i can say is west of fall river, south of wickiup reservoir, walk the small roads real slow. the road hunters have the deer trained to watch and listen for trucks, but on foot you can get the jump on them, late season is best.

I have seen some huge bucks in the timber around Hosmer Lake. I had an incredible buck swim the channel right in front of my drift boat once. They are in there but it is thick.

Good Luck,

Mark
